Cosmetic issues

If there's any consensus that the name of this blog, or the template, or anything like that needs to change, I'm certainly not tied to the way it's set up now. Let me know what you think!

Once your name shows up on the list of contributors on the right, you should be able to add a new post to the blog by clicking here and logging in with your blogger account:

It looks good to me, although I usually like wider themes that fill the whole screen, because if I bump up the font size on smaller themes, the posts get really tall and skinny.

Luckily, I can just edit the style on my end to make it look exactly the way I want it to. That's what I did on Brad's blog too. It's a lot easier than trying to get everyone to agree on what style they like.

If anyone's interested (I doubt it but you never know), I use Firefox, the Greasemonkey extension, and the Cskinner script for Greasemonkey to edit and persist the styles on my side.

Bob,
Try it now. I deleted your comment to protect your e-mail address.

It's fine. I like the name and I like the story/joke.

Flux,
Is this better?

Does anyone hate the new template? It's pretty easy to change it back if it's now harder to read for some of you...

I'm fine with the textual layout, but may I suggest a biege background, rather than white? It's a little easier on the eyes.

No big deal either way, though.

I thought a light blue/green would go better with the logo at the top. Is that better? I could also change the logo to brown or something and then the background could be beige...

That's the idea I had in terms of the width of posts and the font size, however, I liked the colors better on the other one.

Here's how it looked for me on the old theme after I changed the style (1280 x 1024 resolution).

To me that was perfect, and you didn't need to change anything :) Ultimately it doesn't matter to me - leave it, change it, it's all good.

It's much easier on the eyes now, Jules, which is the main thing. I confess I prefer the look of flux's sample -- very trim, very pro. But it's no matter, as long as the site's easy to use.

On that score, though, I do have a further suggestion. It would be good to separate people's replies visually, with a style line or a "Whatsisname said:" or something. This would make it easier to navigate.
