I am in Hawaii longing for Hawaii

I just came back from a holiday in Hawaii. It was fantastic but I had the constant feeling that I was longing for the place I was already in. Someone posted the Basho verse before but it's perfect:

I am in Hawaii
Yet at the sound of the waves
Longing for Hawaii

This post resonates. I have too often longed for or missed the thing, the person, or the place, well before it was gone.
